About Us
We are a group of researchers and designers based in the School of Design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Facing an unstable and fast-changing world, our research and design practices are driven and guided by the value of social good. We deeply care about what real-world impacts our research work can bring and what better futures our design practices can contribute to. Our current work is mainly situated at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Learning Sciences, and Design. For example, we have been exploring innovative and playful computational learning experiences for young children, designing educational technologies to support engaging and inclusive learning, and studying how social contexts may shape children’s learning experiences. Some of our research and design practices also go beyond learning contexts and extend to broader HCI research, such as reflecting on HCI research methodologies and addressing emergent technology-related challenges in people’s everyday life.
We welcome Ph.D. students and grad/undergrad research assistants to join us, especially who are interested in interactive learning technologies, CS/AI education for children, and parent-child interaction around technologies. Feel free to reach out at junnan(dot)yu(at)polyu(dot)edu(dot)hk.
